Huawei has announced the new 11-inch MatePad Pro tablet as part of the “Smart Office Launch in Summer 2022” program. Huawei advertises that this is the world’s thinnest and lightest 11-inch tablet at 5.9mm and weighs 449g.

However, last year’s iPad Pro 11 also came in at 5.9mm and there are larger, thinner Samsung tablets. But the weight of 449g is definitely “champion” at this size.

The 11-inch Huawei MatePad Pro has a 120Hz OLED display with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels. This 10-bit panel has perfect color correction and 1440Hz high frequency PWM dimming. This is also the first tablet to receive TUV Rheinland’s new Full Care Display 3.0 certification.

In the announcement, CEO Richard Yu mentioned the 5nm Snapdragon chipset. However, the spec sheet on the official website lists two models: one using Snapdragon 888 (5nm chip), the other using Snapdragon 870 (7nm).

Huawei MatePad Pro 11 uses 3D graphene and a vapor chamber to keep the chipset cool. The chipset will be paired with 8 or 12GB of RAM and internal storage options of 128, 256, and 512GB. It also offers other connectivity options like 4G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, AAC and LDAC audio, USB-C port.

Huawei also redesigned the multitasking interface to make it easier to use. You can use 2 apps side by side and 2 floating app bubbles. It also runs HarmonyOS 3.0 with some neater improvements. The MatePad Pro 11 promises a cinema-like audio experience with 6 speakers: 2 tweeters and 4 subwoofers.

The tablet runs on an 8300 mAh battery that can play back videos for 11.5 hours. The Snapdragon 888 version supports 66W SuperCharge fast charging but comes with a 40W charger. The Snapdragon 870 version supports 40W charging and comes with a 22.5W adapter.

The device has a dual camera cluster on the back including a 13MP main sensor with f/1.8 aperture with autofocus and an 8MP ultra-wide lens with f/2.2 aperture with fixed focus. On the front, it is equipped with a 16MP camera that supports video calling.

Huawei MatePad Pro 11 will be available globally soon. The 8GB/128GB standard version will cost CNY 3300, while the 12GB/512GB premium version with M-Pencil and keyboard will be sold for CNY 7,700. However, the 512GB version will not be sold globally.
